Cover letter 

Dear Hiring Manager, 

My name is Reagan Atkinson. I am a graduating senior and hope to attend college to study marine science. I am writing to express my interest in marine science and learning more about professions in the field. I hope to apply for the (research or available internship) position. I am majoring in marine science, and I would love to learn more about the field and what kind of job I may be interested in. I believe that I can contribute greatly to your company because I have a passion for marine science and will be hardworking and grateful for any internship position I am offered. 

In high school, I took extra science classes that focused on the well-being of the environment. I took AP environmental science and Anthropology Biology. Within these studies, I've learned that I am interested in life in the ocean, and I would like to continue a path in this field. My passion for the ocean comes from my ability to be reliable and hardworking. 

Previously, I had a job at Scarborough Ace Hardware. In this position, I gained experience in being reliable showing up to work on time, and being prepared to help with anything if needed. I have also mastered working with a team and being a strong team player. I am the captain of my high school softball team, and in this role, I have learned to lead by example and always be on task. Not only working hard and efficiently but with kindness and gratitude. If I am put in a position to work with a team, I will be collaborative and hardworking and do my best to benefit the team. My background in leadership and academics will give me the skills I need to learn quickly and efficiently and adapt to any situation or position.
